CD/DVD REPLICATION

CD-DVD-ReplicationFriendly Fire Burning is the best call for small runs of quality duplicated discs,  and can also provide industry standard replication for orders over 500 copies.

What’s the difference between Repliaction and Duplication?

Replication is an industrial process, where a glass master disc is produced to press the other discs from. As a result, CD replication has a high setup cost, but a low price per unit, so you need to make a lot of CDs to absorb the cost of the setup.

Duplication is the process of burning CD-Rs and printing straight onto the body. Duplication is a fixed price per disc, and is therefore cheaper for smaller runs, but not economical over a certain amount of copies.

Note that Friendly Fire Burning uses “Replicate Discs” for thermal printing, which produces duplicated CDs that look like they were replicated, meaning that the quality is as industry standard even on small run. The quantity and special packaging requirements will dictate which technique will be to your advantage.

Replication allows more packaging options (such as printed card sleeves and digipacks) and a smaller price per unit, but requires a bigger initial outlay as you will need to make at least 500 copies.
